Jess Murray
Counselling and Coaching
Hi, I’m Jess and welcome to my website.
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor, Coach, and Mentor, accredited with the National Counselling & Psycotherapy Society (NCPS Acc). I live on the East Kent coast in Deal where my studio is based, as well as having a therapy space in Hythe.
I offer friendly, supportive, and respectful therapy to couples and individuals in a relaxed, informal environment.
My Approach
I aim to create a warm, calm and supportive space where you feel safe to explore your thoughts and feelings, whether we meet face to face or online. As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, allowing me to tailor our sessions to your individual needs. My approach is collaborative and gently directive, encouraging curiosity, self-awareness and meaningful change. Where appropriate, I also incorporate coaching techniques to help you move forward with confidence.
I believe that when we are feeling vulnerable, we often need more than understanding alone. We need practical support and achievable steps that help us regain a sense of control and hope. Together, we can identify realistic goals and celebrate small but meaningful progress, creating lasting personal growth and helping you build a life that feels more fulfilling.
I work collaboratively with my clients using a blend of talking therapy, creative techniques, worksheets and helpful resources such as videos and podcasts, dependent on what is relevant to our sessions.
What to Expect
Every client is unique, so I tailor my approach to meet your individual needs. Depending on what you’re experiencing, I draw on a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis, Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Gestalt, and the Person-Centred Approach. These are just some of the modalities I integrate into my work, allowing me to provide therapy that is both flexible and personalised.
Sessions last for 50 minutes and are designed to provide a safe, supportive space where we can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences at a pace that feels right for you.
Who I Work With
I work with individuals and couples aged 17 and over, offering a safe, supportive, and confidential space to explore a wide range of personal, emotional, and relationship difficulties. Before we begin working togethery ou will be asked to complete a short onboarding form. This helps me gain an initial understanding of your circumstances and assess whether I have the appropriate knowledge and experience to support you effectively. If I feel that your needs would be better met by a therapist or service with more specialised expertise, I will discuss this with you and, where possible, signpost or refer you to the most appropriate professional. My priority is ensuring that you receive the support that is best suited to your individual needs. Finding the right therapist is an important part of the counseling process, and I am committed to helping you access the support that is right for you, whether that is with me or through another appropriate service.

What My Clients Say:
I was very fortunate to meet Jess. I found her to be so kind, understanding and helped me through a very stressful time. Jess is the complete package and would recommend her to anyone for help and guidance.
Petrina, May 2026
I have been seeing Jess regularly for about 6 months to hep me navigate a difficult relationship, and I could not quite understand and cope with what was happening. She has helped me understand the behaviours and how to deal with them as my daily life is affected. She listens wihout judgement, is professional and provides a safe place to talk.
